My thesis project will mainly focus on estimating Blue carbon stock as well as emissions factors in seagrass meadows , specifically (Posidonia oceanica and Cymodocea nodosa ). The sampling will be done in differents Marine Protected Areas  (MPAs) along the Tunisan coast. In Fact, it will investigate the synergy that exists between Marine Protected Areas and carbon sequestration. In the framework of this thesis we will also investigate the impact of anthropogenic activity on Blue carbon sequestration by comparing the Blue carbon stock in seagrass meadow that has been under pressure for a long period of time  with other meadows that are  suposed to be in MPAs.
