About me
Harry was born in the United Kingdom in 1999 and grew up in the coastal countryside of southwest England, with a great passion for nature, both terrestrial and marine. He graduated in Environmental Sciences in the University of Exeter in 2022 and is currently studying the Master's in Sciences and Management of Nature: Global Change Ecology and Sustainable Development Goals in the University of BolognaBetween 2013 and 2024, he worked teaching outdoor education classes for children on the environment, natural history, history, and bushcraft techniques during his stays in the United Kingdom. Additionally, Harry worked with the seaweed company Ocean Rainforest in the cultivation and production of seaweed and derived products, as well as in the construction of seaweed farms in the fjords of the Faroe Islands between 2022 and 2023. His interests and work focus on Blue Carbon solutions, policy implementation, and environmental education.
Hobbies
Hiking, sea swimming, surfing, language learning, foraging, making and infusing alcohol, cooking, diving, snorkelling, travelling, and attending and working at festivals.
Scientific interests
Solutions to climate change and the increasing anthropogenic pressure on terrestrial systems and human societies, with a focus on nature-based methodologies.
The study and application of macrophytes in relation to carbon storage and sequestration.
Conservation and management of seagrass meadows and seaweed forests.
