The Aquatic Macrophyte Ecology Group has over 20 years of experience in the field of coastal ecosystem ecology, marine sediment biogeochemistry, paleoenvironmental reconstruction, and blue carbon.
Although we focus on knowledge generation (basic science), we are also very aware of our duty to contribute to the well-being of our society through its application to solving concrete problems. GAME's extensive experience in the fields of ecology, paleoecology, and environmental diagnosis in coastal areas has clear applications beyond the academic world. Thus, we offer our knowledge and capabilities in:
- Environmental monitoring, diagnosis, and remediation in coastal areas.
- Technological support for the implementation of projects for associations, foundations, administrations, etc.
- Advisory services throughout the entire Blue Carbon field chain: fieldwork planning, sampling techniques, laboratory analysis, data processing, interpretation.
- Paleoecology forensicUse of the marine sedimentary record to reconstruct environmental impact processes, their origins in space and time, and their evolution into the future.
