About me

Elliott (Ohio, USA, 1998) is a technician and PhD student at GAME-CSIC in collaboration with the technology company GPA-SeaBots and within the framework of the EU EFFECTIVE project. He is pursuing a doctorate to develop autonomous methods for mapping and surveying seagrass meadows using geoacoustic systems to quantify blue carbon stocks. His background is in reef ecology and the connections between humans and the environment through his master's studies with IMBRSea (2023). His master's thesis is titled: "Spatial and temporal study of coral reefs in the multi-archipelago of French Polynesia through a hybrid ecological-ethnographic approach."

Hobbies

Adventurer of the sea and air, Elliott is a sailor, diver, and pilot. Always in search of new horizons, global travels, and the exploration of new cultures. He frequents jazz clubs.

Scientific interests

His interests focus on the management of marine ecosystems, ecological-ethnographic perspectives, and marine socioeconomic development. Technological innovation is a constant interest across all areas. A passionate advocate for coral reefs.
