About me

PhD in Geological Sciences in 1998 from the University of Barcelona (UB), he spent two and a half years with a postdoctoral fellowship from the now-defunct Ministry of Education and Science in Belgium (Royal Museum for Central Africa). In 2001, he returned to Spain with a Reincorporation of Doctors contract at the Department of Ecology of the University of Barcelona. He moved to the Jaume Almera Earth Sciences Institute of the CSIC in 2003, where he first obtained a Ramón y Cajal contract, and later the position of Senior Scientist in 2007.

Scientific interests

Reconstruction of Earth's climatic and environmental changes over the last millennia based on the multiparametric study and high temporal resolution of lacustrine sedimentary records.
Reconstruction of the evolution of climate modes (NAO, EA, ENSO) that control Earth's climate variability.
Development of statistical tools to identify and isolate the climate signal from other environmental signals in natural records.
