About me
Nele began her career as a biologist in 2017 at the University of Leipzig (Germany). She completed her degree in 2021 with her thesis, in which she analysed the interactions between algae and bacteria using imaging flow cytometry and photosynthesis measurements, which led her to develop a fascination with the microcosm. However, studying marine community ecology for a semester at the University of Bergen (Norway) rekindled her passion for the underwater world, and she learned that diving in cold waters is a reverential and beautiful experience. Recently, Nele completed her Master's in Marine Biology at the University of Bremen (Germany) and obtained the European scientific diving licence. She carried out her master's thesis within the framework of sea4soCiety, analysing the carbon storage potential of seagrass meadows. Zostera noltii In the Wadden Sea of Germany and the possible environmental factors, in collaboration with the AWI Wadden Sea Station Sylt. Currently, undertaking a research stay at GAME-CSIC, studying the paleoecological archives of Mediterranean seagrass meadows.
