About me
Paul is a Marine Ecology professor at the Centre for Natural Sciences and director of the Marine Ecosystems Research Centre (Edith Cowan University, Perth, Australia) with over 30 years of experience in applied marine science work. He has worked for the Governments of Australia and the USA on some of the largest restoration projects, including the "Peel-Harvey Management Programme," the "Boston Harbor Cleanup Programme," and the "Perth Coastal Waters Study."
His research has contributed to defining the role of coastal habitats in mitigating climate change and preserving environmental records through sediment archives. He has led major national and international projects in Australia, Europe, and Southeast Asia, focused on carbon storage and ecosystem restoration. His applied work has underpinned government policies, including the development of Australia's first Blue Carbon method, within the framework of the National Emissions Reduction Fund.

Reading, music, and diving.
Scientific interests
His research is mainly based on the ecology and management of phanerogam ecosystems.
